The weight gaining season has begun!

It starts with Halloween... the candy and snacks seem to come from everywhere. It starts with eating the candy that we buy to hand out. Then we buy some more to replace the previous bags of candy. we learned to start buying the candy we like the best because we don't get very many trick-or-treaters. This of course leads to too much of the candy we like around so we end if eating it. I suppose if we did meet some much ice cream as well as candy during this time year it would be a little easier to keep the pounds off. Now the candy is gone and the additional a few pounds hard on too just in time for Thanksgiving the come around. We will stay focused on our goals is maintain a healthy weight, it just might take more focused this time year.

It does seem as though the amount of treats is a little leaner this year compared to other years. There doesn't seem to be very much good out of this bad economy but a few less treats won't be so bad on the body. Today is 15 November and so far there hasn't been one mention of a Thanksgiving potluck or fall harvest luncheon or gathering of any kind. The mood and the munchies seem to have been affected by the economy.

I will make it a goal not to put on more than three or four pounds between now and the end of the holiday season. The cold weather makes it harder to keep the weight off because I'm not is likely to get out and walk as much when it is only a few degrees above freezing. The plan is to try to walk at least one mile a day at least six days a week. So far I have been lucky and have been able to forgive a mile or two a day. the colder weather makes the metal in my body expand just enough to cause aching. I don't want to wear out a path walking around the office in side when it's too wet and cold however it is tempting.

I hope you can stay focused on your goals during this holiday season and slow recovering economy. You, being whoever you are that may come across this blog may be from a dollar or two that had the special stamp on it. Make your goal and stay focused if you find yourself slipping up remember that tomorrow is another day to try again.
