That NAFTA thing is so yesterday

The "water cooler" discussions have been pretty interesting lately. It is no surprise that most of the discussion has been about the election and the looming budget cuts. I must have just imagined the, "We're mad as hell and not going to take it anymore", rally cry I thought I heard. It didn't take long for most folks to settle back into their "Oh well, what can you do about it", serf-like attitude. The only thing folks seem to still be fired up about is the party they belong to.

This is going to sound way out there but I swear I have Democrat friends that would vote for a child molester if they were running against a Republican. I have friends that I know would vote for a serial killer before they would vote for a Democrat.

I'll ask these questions (that no one will respond to because it takes more time to add a comment than it does to tweet or text someone).
  • What do the Republicans stand for that you align yourself only to that party?
  • What do the Democrats stand for that you align yourself only to that party?
  • What does any party stand for that you align yourself only to that party?

Voting strictly based on the party of the candidate just escapes me. Independents are not the wisest voters but I like to think that they research the candidates before they color in the dot next to the name.

Here's another question for no one to answer.
Have any of you tried using Dragon Naturally Speaking with Open Office Writer?

I'm thinking about giving the basic software a try just to make ranting a little easier. Plus I have some other ideas for projects in the future.
